E-Waste & ITAD, UAE-Wide

Your Old IT Equipment Isn't Waste. It's Unrecovered Cash, Unmanaged Risk, and Unwiped Data.

Retired laptops, servers and drives sitting in storage aren't just an environmental problem — they're a compliance gap and a data breach risk. Redolent turns them into a documented, certified, closed loop.

Why This Matters Now

E-waste isn't only an environmental story in the UAE. It's a business exposure.

Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream on earth. Most of the conversation stops at landfill and toxins — but for a business, unmanaged IT equipment quietly creates three separate problems at once.

Money left on the table

Idle equipment depreciates every month it sits unused, and informal resale channels rarely pay fair value or guarantee anything in return.

Legal exposure that doesn't disappear

Under UAE Federal Law No. 12 of 2018, liability for hazardous waste generally stays with the generator — even after it's handed to an unlicensed buyer.

A data breach hiding in plain sight

Reformatting a drive doesn't erase it. Recoverable client data, credentials and financial records routinely leave buildings on "wiped" hardware.

Reference: UAE Federal Law No. 12 of 2018 on Integrated Waste Management sets out segregation, treatment, and movement requirements for hazardous waste — a category that covers most retired IT hardware once batteries and circuit boards are involved. See the UAE government waste management portal.

The Real Difference

Unmanaged disposal vs. a certified ITAD process

Common Questions

Straight answers before you decide

Is e-waste legally classified as hazardous waste in the UAE?

Yes, in most cases. Once batteries, circuit boards, or heavy metals are present, electronics typically fall under the hazardous waste provisions of Federal Law No. 12 of 2018, which restricts how they can be stored, moved, and disposed of.

Does reformatting a drive protect our data before resale?

No. Reformatting only clears the file index, not the underlying data, which remains recoverable with common software. Real protection requires certified wiping to NIST SP 800-88, or physical destruction for drives that won't be reused.

Who's liable if equipment sold informally is dumped or exported illegally?

Responsibility generally traces back to the original generator, since selling to an unlicensed buyer doesn't transfer regulatory liability. A certified recycler issuing a documented Certificate of Recycling closes that exposure.

Which emirates do you cover?

All seven — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain — using our own collection fleet, not subcontractors.

Get retired IT equipment out of storage — and off your risk register.

Free pickup, certified data destruction, and a signed certificate for every job. Anywhere in the UAE.
